Effective date: 29 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Southern Traders collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it. It follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Who we are

Southern Traders is the trading name of Easy Interiors Limited, 232 Great South Road, Manurewa, Auckland 2102. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Southern Traders.

2. What we collect

We only collect what you give us, mainly through the forms on this website:

  • WINZ Quote form - your first name and surname, email, phone number, street address and suburb, delivery details (which floor, and the steps into the property), the items you'd like quoted, and any comments.
  • Sell Your Items form - your name, email, phone number, pick-up address, a description of your items, the price you're hoping for, the date you need them gone by, and the photos you upload.
  • Contact form - your name, email, phone number and your message.

If you phone, email or visit us, we also keep the details you give us so we can help you.

3. Why we collect it

  • To answer your enquiries.
  • To prepare quotes for Work and Income (WINZ) and other agencies or organisations.
  • To assess, and make an offer on, items you want to sell us.
  • To arrange delivery or pick-up.
  • To run our business, including keeping the records the law requires.

4. Where it goes

  • When you send a form, the details are emailed to our business email address, sales@southerntraders.co.nz. We don't save form details in a database on this website.
  • Photos you upload with the Sell Your Items form are saved on our web server and attached to that email.
  • We keep a short record of Sell Your Items forms (name, email and phone number) on our web server, outside the public part of the website, so we can check the form is working.

5. Who we share it with

  • Work and Income (WINZ) or another agency - if you ask us for a quote for them, we may share your quote details with them.
  • Our delivery staff - your name, address and phone number, when we deliver to you or pick up from you.
  • Our email and website hosting providers - they store our emails and website files for us.

We never sell your personal information. We only share it as described here, or where the law requires us to.

6. Social media

We publish our own product posts to our Facebook Page and Instagram account using Meta's tools. This doesn't collect your personal information through our website. If you contact us on Facebook or Instagram, Meta's own privacy policy also applies.

7. Cookies and analytics

  • Website cookies - our website uses a session cookie, and a security cookie that protects our forms from misuse. They don't identify who you are.
  • Google Analytics - we use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how they use the site. It uses cookies and collects information such as your device, browser and rough location. It doesn't give us your name or contact details.
  • Google reCAPTCHA - our Contact form uses reCAPTCHA to stop spam. Google checks information about your device and how you use the page to confirm you're a person.
  • Facebook posts - the page you see after sending a form shows some of our Facebook posts. Facebook may set its own cookies when they load.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but our forms may not work without them.

8. Keeping it safe

Our website uses a secure (https) connection. Only our staff who need your information can see it, and we take reasonable steps to protect it from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

9. How long we keep it

We only keep your information for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or for as long as the law requires (for example, business and tax records). After that, we delete it.

10. Your right to see and correct your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. Contact us using the details below. We'll respond within 20 working days.
